Corporate Social Investment

At Urban Dynamics, we are absolutely passionate about on-going training and staff development. Our HR Development programmes are focused on bursaries for post-graduate studies, internships and in-house training programmes. These initiatives are dynamic and adjusted annually to meet ever-changing market demands. The philosopher Herbert Spencer once said: "The great aim of education is not knowledge, but action". Our successful projects and unique professional approach bear testament that this key pillar of our CSI programme converts knowledge to action!

TRAINING

Training is another of those areas where a company’s commitment to the development of its staff and its focus on Corporate Social Investment can be measured. Management is passionately committed to the development of all its personnel. It may be of interest to take note of the following recorded training statistics for the period 2010 / 2011:

Total number of individual training sessions arranged - 51
Total number of individual staff training sessions completed – 434
Number of recorded hours that staff members spent in training – 1196 hours (calculates to 149,5 working days)

INTERNSHIPS

Every year, we assist Wits University by accommodating 4 final year Town Planning students for 2 weeks each to gain exposure and some work experience in our office.
Through our PRT contracts and over a period of 5 years, we have also assisted the University of Johannesburg with internships of the Gauteng Housing Department. At least 2 students per year were assisted on behalf of the Department - each for six months at a time.
We also periodically provide vacation work for town planning students and where we can, we continue to help the planning schools in our region.
